General Requirements

We seek well-rounded, proficient candidates with rigorous experience in app and web development to ensure clients are always in capable hands. We look for diverse backgrounds, relevant and wide-ranging skills, extensive experience, advanced education, and exceptional cognitive ability. Our hiring process is fairly comprehensive and includes pre-employment cognitive and aptitude testing to assess candidate qualities critical to the work we do. Employment aptitude tests help us identify mentally agile candidates, quick learners, and creative problem solvers. We use pre-employment tests like the Criteria Cognitive Aptitude Test (CCAT) to assess a candidate’s capabilities in the areas of problem-solving, critical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to learn, digest, and apply new information.

Non-internship positions at PhD Code require extensive and relevant work experience gained through employment in the government, military, private sector, or academia. Experience working with firms and clients based outside of the United States is a plus. Eligibility for security clearance is also a plus. Work experience that lacks technological sophistication, generally will not satisfy our hiring criteria.

Excellent command of the English language and professional proficiency in Spanish, German, French, Italian, Arabic, Japanese, or Mandarin is a plus.

We generally require a PhD or doctoral degree (research or professional doctorate) of all members in our advisory board. However, it is not unusual for us to offer advisory positions to exceptional candidates who hold a master’s degree. Either way, degrees must be in a relevant field, including but not limited to Business Administration, Finance, Project Management, Marketing, Psychology, Data Science, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Applied Mathematics, and Actuarial Science.
